Graceful Footprints - by Alisha Ritchie

I love peaceful mornings at the beach. The long coast stretches out before me as the sun is rising. Gentle breezes blow my hair as I inhale salty air. I stroll along the shore, letting my feet sink deeply into the sand. I look back over my shoulder to see how far I've walked and notice all my footprints have disappeared-no trace of where I've been. The ocean water has completely washed away the evidence of my stroll.
I'm reminded of God's wonderful grace as I continue my walk. The Lord freely gives me grace even though I've done nothing to deserve it. All of my heavy footsteps in life, like the footprints in the sand, have been covered by His precious gift of grace.
By His sacrifice on the cross, God gives us grace that is free to all who will receive it. You cannot earn it. You cannot win it. You cannot do enough good deeds to merit it. You only have to accept it by surrendering your heart to the One who desires you to be His forever.
Let your soul be surrounded by the waves of God's grace. Be encouraged that no matter what you've done or where life has taken you, it's never too far for God to find you, covering your footsteps with His relentless grace.
"Lord, I know I'm a sinner and don't deserve Your precious gift. Thank you for saving me and helping me through the journey of life by washing my footprints with Your perfect grace. In Jesus' name, Amen."
