Nothing in God is Wasted by Susan Barnes "You have kept record of my days of wandering. You have stored my tears in your bottle and counted each of them." Psalm 56:8
A lady was giving her testimony to a group of people when she realized her story of being raised in an orphanage, was moving her audience to tears. "Don't be distressed," she said, "I needed my past - it brought me to God."
I wonder if that’s your testimony too? So often it's the sorrows and hardships in our lives that bring us to God or to a deeper walk with him. It is in the hard times that we realize that we are not as competent and self-sufficient as we would like to think. Sometimes we need to have our securities removed so we trust in God alone.
It is a great encouragement to know that God does not dismiss our suffering. He stores our tears in a bottle. Nothing with God is wasted. Whatever he allows into our lives is for a purpose.
At difficult times we need to remind ourselves of Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Nothing is wasted because God is always working for the good of those who love him.
