THE POWER OF SMALL PRAYERS Deepika Emmanuel Sagar “And if you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer” Matthew 21:22 (HCSB)
“Father, I am not able to open this container. Please do it for me.” Many girls and their fathers can relate to this type of a statement. The daughter approaches her father with confidence, knowing that she can depend on him for everything, big and small. In turn, he also feels happy to help.
Do you mind giving that happiness to your heavenly Father who waits eagerly for your call? How precious is the blessing that we always have our God standing by our side, so much alert and ready to help us. He just remains a call away. Yes, He is there for all the big problems of your life. But do you know that when you call Him to mend your small things, then the probability of them turning into big problems lessens. The gift of Christ was not just forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:7), but also the blessing of calling God as “Abba,”, our Father (Romans 8:15). Christ renewed our relationship with God and he gave us a way through prayer to approach his throne.
So pray! For ten minutes, I tried but was unable to start my car. Pray! I forgot my way, now where do I head? Pray! I left my pen somewhere and can’t find it. Pray! My dress looks great; I got compliments from all over. Pray with thanks. These situations might sound too small for prayers, but once you experience it, you will never be able to deny the power of just three words, “Lord, help me” or “Lord, thank you.”
