DON’T GIVE UP By Grace Olumayowa Aideloje There is hope for you. “There is always hope for a tree. If it is cut down, it can grow again. It will keep sending out new branches. Its roots might grow old in the ground and its stump die in the dirt, but with water, it will grow again. It will grow branches like a new plant.” (Job 14:7-9 ERV) Don’t give up. Don’t give up on God. Don’t give up on yourself. There is hope for you in Christ (Colossians 1:27 KJV). There is forgiveness and restoration for you. There is strength for your spirit, soul, and body. At the time, Ahab was the cruelest king in Israel. He murdered God’s prophets and blatantly disobeyed God’s laws by worshiping idols and building altars for them. He murdered Naboth just to possess his vineyard. These are grievous sins before God. In 1 Kings 21:17-29, God sent Elijah with His judgment. Ahab repented and you know what, God forgave him.
That is the God of the Bible. No matter how far you have gone from Him, turn back and repent. Call unto Him, saying, "Lord, here am I, just as I am. Forgive me, restore me in Jesus name." He will open His arms and wrap them around you, filling you with the hope you need to return home. “…with water - the Word of God, you will grow again…” As you begin to speak with Him and read your Bible daily, He will restore you and all that you have lost. Don’t waste any more time.
