GODLY CONFIDENCE – by Linzy Bruno
IF IT'S CONFIDENCE YOU NEED, REPEAT AFTER ME: "I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency..."Philippians' 4:13 AMP.
I have always lacked confidence from kindergarten on up and that problem worsened in my teen years. Then in my adulthood; I didn't feel much better. I know a lot of young people, as well as older people suffer in this area, doubting themselves and feeling "in over their heads" in this "dog-eat-dog world," however, we Christians can put our confidence in our all almighty God and enjoy a whole new way to do things with ease and it's all because we learn to trust Him to work through us; supplying us with grace, wisdom; anything we need.
I'm so happy I've finally made a habit of going to God whenever I'm faced with anything that requires confidence. Now I pray to God to give me the skill, the creativity, whatever I need to succeed and He always comes through for me! Whether I ask Him for the words when I'm writing or to help me stop worrying or to have the right words for a confrontation; He always enables me. I like to think of my Godly confidence as a secret between me and Him, because on the outside, it looks like it's ALL me, but it's really Him, working in me; making it all turn out right!
Prayer for Godly confidence: Lord, please remind me today to stop what I am doing and pray every time I am in need of confidence. I know I can't do anything without You, but in You and through You; the possibilities are as big as the sky and the heavens and the earth all put together. Thank You that I am "self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency," just because I believe! In Jesus name, AMEN.
