For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. (1 Peter 3:5-6 KJV)
After Peter instructs the wives to adorn themselves with a meek and quiet spirit to win their husbands to the Lord, he gives them an example. In verse five, he refers to all the godly women in the Old Testament who trusted God (for example, Hannah, Ruth, and Esther). Then, in verse six, he refers specifically to Sara, who called Abraham lord (Genesis 18:12). Sara first doubted but then trusted the Lord for a child when she was past age. Hebrews 11:11 lists her as a woman of great faith. Along with her faith for a child, she adorned herself with a submissive attitude of love and respect for her husband.
First-century Christian wives were called Sara’s daughters when they did well and were not fearful or terrified. They were to live the Christ life in their own home and trust God without fear or terror of their unsaved husbands. They had to trust God for protection as they lived Christ before their partner. “The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.” (Proverbs 29:25).
It is true in any time of history that a faithful, obedient Christian is at risk from ungodly and sometimes violent men. But a godly wife, should live the Christ life with integrity and love and trust God to take care of her.

The steps to share your faith without fear – no confrontation. Pray and then get them alone.
Ask these five questions to help discover their personal spiritual condition.
Do you have any kind of spiritual belief?
To you, who is Jesus?
Do you think there is a heaven and a hell?
If you died right now, where would you go?
If what you believe were not true, would you want to know it?
Listen to their answers in a calm and open way. You are asking their permission to share Christ with the last question. If they say no, you can drop it – no confrontation. You have still done the work of Christ and offered the truth.
Here are a series of five Bible verses to ask the lost person to read aloud if you have their permission. Let them read them and remain silent. After each verse they read, ask them what it says to them. If they misunderstand, ask them to read it again until they admit the truth in the verse.

Then ask them a series of five questions that summarizes the truth of the verses and lead the lost person to the point of decision.
Are you a sinner?
Do you want forgiveness for your sins?
Do you believe Jesus died on the cross for you and rose again?
Are you willing to surrender yourself to Christ?
Are you ready to invite Jesus into your heart and into your life?
Lead them in the Sinner's Prayer if they are ready to make a decision. Stay in touch and get them discipled or connect them with a local fellowship or small group for future growth.
