Never Too Late by Sheldon Bass
"I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands." (Isaiah 49:15-16)
When Moses was eighty years old, God called him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. I imagine after forty years tending his father in-law's flocks, Moses was certain he'd never amount to anything more than a shepherd. Yet, after years of being an average-joe he was suddenly thrust into the lime light; taking his place in history; becoming the greatest Old Testament prophet, and "Friend of God".
Life can make us feel forgotten; a nobody, and of little importance. However, as long as we're breathing, God can still use us to perform mighty works. He knows all His children by name. In fact, your name is inscribed upon His hands. He's not forgotten you.
"I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans not to harm you, but to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)
When dark days are upon us, or our plans have gone awry, we can look up, believing; God has a better plan for us. Jesus is our source of perpetual strength and hope.
Lord, we praise you for the special future you have for us; on earth and in heaven. I will continue to trust you, when fear or doubt attempts to steal my joy and peace. Thank you for the wonderful plan you have for me—in Jesus' name, amen.
