Hidden Identities by Antje Hill “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto myself.” John 12:32 NKJV On a laid-back Saturday afternoon my husband and I made our way in and out of antique stores in our area. I liked the atmosphere, unhurried, quiet. We were finishing up the afternoon when Richard walked up to me from the back of the gallery. He held a small chameleon. He concluded that at some point in time this little creature had come through the door with an unsuspecting customer. “He needs a safe place,” he commented, walking toward the door. On the dark floors, the tiny creature was brown, but I knew on a bed of grass, he would turn green and blend into nature with his God-given camouflage. There have been times in my life, like this little creature, I hid my identity. But God wants us to be totally visible to a world looking for answers. Jesus gave us an example when He walked the earth. He never blended in. People who met him knew there was just something about Him. Fortunate for us, God doesn’t abandon us during our times of poor choices. Once we ask Him into our life, He doesn’t love us according to our actions, but because His Son’s blood is covering us. Is it any wonder He wants us visible? We are priceless. Today’s freelance Christian writer lives with her husband, Richard, in Collins, MS. She writes and speaks on marriage and parenting. Contact
