The Night as the Day by Wanda Sewell John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” I experienced this love first hand one night on a dark and possibly dangerous road. In the 1990’s I worked for a reputable telemarketing firm in Virginia Beach, VA. At one point my car broke down for good, I started out by walking one hour and forty-five minutes one way to be at work by 4 pm and then reversed the walk home at 11:30 pm. One night as I walked home I happened upon Interstate 64 which was under construction. The place was a mess with all the rubbish and work materials gathered under the overpass. As I entered into this section I said to myself, “Wanda, shouldn’t you be afraid?” Immediately God spoke to me and said: “The night is as the day to the Lord!” So upon hearing His Voice, I said, “Okay, I won’t be afraid.” And I continued on home. Imagine my surprise one day while reading God’s Word after this incident as I came across Psalm 139:12 (KJV): “Yea, the darkness hideth not from Thee but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to Thee.” Today’s freelance writer lives in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains in Little Falls, NY.
