Temporary Home by Karen White In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:2 My husband and I were born and lived in Louisiana all our lives until a few years ago. Due to a job situation we found ourselves in Georgia. When we would meet someone and they inquired where we lived my husband would answer, “Louisiana”. I thought it kind of odd, but felt he just needed more time to adjust, however months later his reply continued to be the same. One day thoughts began to whirl around in my mind. Why do we not think of Georgia as home? Is it because we had lived in Louisiana so long, our family, friends, and house are there, or because we are still searching for a church home in Georgia? As these thoughts formed in my mind, the Lord reminded me that our home on Earth is temporary. As a Christian my eternal home will be in heaven with Him. There I will remain for many, many, more years than I have ever lived in Louisiana. My family and friends will no longer be hours away. I will have a mansion, which I am convinced will be self-cleaning, and be a member of the perfect church. It will definitely not be a temporary home because I will live there forever and ever. Hallelujah! Today’s writer is a Christian wife, mother of three, and grandmother of five. Recently retired from the public education system, her dream is to be a Christian author. Contact
