Nothing can separate us from the love of God? by Tim Pickl
“For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 (AMP)
Sitting at the kitchen table with a friend from church, Richard read the last two verses from Romans Chapter 8 with tears. Richard was amazed—he never knew God loved him so much. “But Steve, you don’t understand, you don’t know where I've been and what I've done.”
After taking a deep breath, Steve replied, “One thing is missing on this amazing list about the love of God—the past. We need to remember Romans 8:1 (AMP), Therefore, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus… Don’t allow the enemy to haunt you with past sins God has already forgiven you for.”
“So, don’t look back?”
“Yes sir. Let’s pray. Father, help us realize that nothing can separate us from your love, unless we allow the accuser of the brethren to distract us. Whenever we feel alone, help us remember you’re right here at the mention of your name, Jesus. Amen.”
