Be Like The Ant – Jane Young
If you have something you really want to accomplish, you have to go for it. Don’t expect things to just fall in your lap. Don’t be lazy, and don’t make excuses for not applying yourself.
“Go to the ant, O sluggard, Observe her ways and be wise,” Proverbs 6:6 NASB.
Almost everything in an ant’s world is larger than he is, and yet the ant diligently works at gathering what he needs without making excuses. Ever notice how a fire ant mound seems to appear over night? — Diligence. Wisdom finds a way.
Write down your vision and what you feel God has placed in your heart to do and take steps towards accomplishing them. Don’t let worry and doubt creep in but pray about everything. Let go of lazy habits and unproductive thinking. "‘A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest’—Your poverty will come in like a vagabond and your need like an armed man.” Proverbs 6:10-11 NASB.
Don’t allow distractions that will make your future less then you desire it to be. Remember success requires your participation. Choose not to be slothful or slack concerning the things you want to happen in your life. Now is the time to make your life what you want it to be. “But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” 2 Chronicles 15:7 NIV.
Today’s hard work will dictate tomorrow’s success. Your determination will become the starting point for the future. Don’t sleep on your dreams, make them come true. It’s not too late!
Prayer: Father forgive me for my slothfulness in what you have given me to do. You blessed me with talents unique to me and I have not been diligent in being the best I could be in those areas. Going forth I want to be willing and obedient in all you would have me do. Help me Father.
