Are You Afraid? – Ken Ebright
“You will hear about wars and stories of wars that are coming, but don’t be afraid. These things must happen before the end come.” (Matthew 24:6 NCV)
In the book of Luke, there is a list of events that will happen just before the Lord returns. When the pandemic began in March of 2020, I found a verse in Luke’s gospel that talks about sickness and other calamities (Luke 21:11 NCV). Now, in the March of 2022, there are stories about wars (Matthew 24:6-13 NCV). The president of Russia has threatened to use nuclear weapons which could be launched and reach America within minutes.
When my dad passed away, he died in his sleep. If a missile was launched and landed near me, I’d die in an explosion. Often, before I go to bed, I wonder if this is going to be my last night on earth. Sometimes, my thoughts leave me fearful of being blown up in an explosion.
However, what does not make me fearful is where I will go after I die. I know that I will be with Jesus. Conversely, there are people who should be afraid. If you don’t know Jesus and His eternal saving grace, He will not be able to save you and you will spend eternity in the lake of fire. This is not something God desires for you. If you don’t know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you need to call out to him today and accept God’s free gift of salvation for all who will believe, before your time runs out.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 ESV
