Lose weight based on the way you want to live your life.  If socializing is important to you, know your patterns, what you like to eat and drink, and plan around those.  Know WHY you want to lose weight.  Know how you want to feel and how your choices are in alignment with that.  It’s about you, not about doing it right or wrong or someone else’s way.
