WINE TASTING TOMORROW - 5 pm
It's official! Spring is here and the season calls for easy drinking, crushable wines to quench your thirst and relax the mind. We'll be pouring some of our favorite natural wines to chill and sip. Come by and waste tine with us! :)
Here's tomorrow's trio:
David Franz, Semillon 'Long Gully Rd.' (Australia) $25
Semillon was hand-picked from 125 year old dry-grown vines on Steve and Rebecca Falland’s Long Gully Road Block. Soil is a loose sandy loam that gives this Semillon a pure water source all year round. As David says “Like the generations of Australians who can’t imagine breakfast without a slice of Vegemite smeared toast, I just can’t imagine a summer evening without an ice cold glass of Semillon.”
Ca' de Noci, Rosato Frizzante 'Tre Dame' (Italy) $25
Brothers Giovanni and Alberto Masini are making compelling wines from their family's 13 acre farm in the Reggio Emilia area, near Bologna, Italy. They are celebrating the heirloom varieties of the region and utilizing traditional methods for sparkling wine. Tre Dame is made with the nearly extinct grapes Termarina and Sgavetta, making for a super refreshing, fresh and funky fizzy wine.
Vieux Moulin, Corbieres (France) $20
We tasted this wine a couple of months ago and knew this was the perfect burger/hot dog/all things grilled red wine. It is a blend of Carignan, Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah, that shows its rich fruit and spice with freshness and verve. It's the gateway wine for the Argentinean Malbec crowd! |
