Subject: White Wine Heaven!

"Luca's father Alfredo Currado practically invented dry Arneis in 1967 and was responsible for rescuing the variety from extinction; previously Arneis had been vinified sweet. Another name for the variety is White Nebbiolo, suggesting that Arneis could have been an early mutation of the red variety." - Stephen Tanzer

2014 Vietti Roero Arneis
$144 6pack

Luca Currado is continuing his father's tradition of producing beautiful dry white Arneis.

Fruit from 25+ year old vines planted in Santo Stefano Roero area was crushed, pressed and clarified. The wine fermented in stainless steel autoclaves at controlled temperatures to preserve some natural CO2. Malolactic was blocked and the wine was transferred to stainless steel tanks until bottling.

A pale yellow color with aromas of fresh florals, citrus and melons with hints of almonds. An elegant, medium-bodied wine with crisp acidity, good complexity and a lingering finish.
