Totally under the radar, this Barbera truly floored us. Honestly, it is better than most Barolos! We are all taking it home. Trust us on this one!

Very Happy to Offer

2012 Andrea Scovero Barbera d’Asti $156 6pack

This is a tiny production from Andrea Scovero, who represents the fifth generation of his family to organically farm their vineyards of only 4 hectares of Barbera and Nebbiolo. The fruit is hand-harvested fairly late, in order to express maximum character. Wines are made in a completely natural manner and their purity of fruit is striking. Bright red, juicy fruit with fantastic amounts of savory spice, tobacco and cooking spices. Complex and long-lingering.

The vineyard is located in a 'Ciapin,’ local dialect for an amphitheater like valley, just south of Asti in the small village of Bionzo. The Barbera d'Asti 2012 comes from 47 year old vines.
