| | | 2012 Domaine Jayer Gilles Echezeaux Grand Cru $270 bottle |
| | 92-95 Antoni Galloni "A rich, deeply layered wine, the 2012 Echezeaux covers every corner of the palate. Dark red cherries, plums, menthol, licorice, smoke and new leather are some of the many notes that blossom in a wine that stands out for its superb balance and potential. This is another wine with significant promise for the future."

93 Wine Advocate "The 2012 Echezeaux Grand Cru, which comes from the lieu-dit “Du Dessus” has a very pure bouquet with vibrant red berry fruit – raspberry and wild strawberry entwined with fine mineralite. The palate is very refined with supple, linear tannins. This is very focused, again, handling the oak with style with good density and symmetry on the long finish. This is an accomplished Echezeaux." — Neal Martin

| | 93 Burghound "A discreet but not invisible application of oak surrounds an ultra-spicy, ripe and agreeably fresh nose that is comprised by a beautiful array of black berries, plum and exotic Asian tea scents. In much the same fashion as the 2013 version the big-bodied flavors are robust, muscular and mineral-inflected before terminating a palate coating finish that goes on and on. I should point out that while this is not especially complex at present my score envisions that much more will develop. I say this not only because there is excellent underlying material but also because this wine has a fabulous track record for developing beautifully over time." — Allen Meadows
