Founded in 1828, Springbank is the oldest independent family-owned distillery in Scotland — run today by the 5th generation of the Mitchell family.
Longrow is a heavily-peated single malt made at the Springbank distillery. Longrow’s heavy, smoky character is thought to reflect the style produced in Campbeltown during its Victorian heyday. Longrow Red is finished in a different type of red wine cask each year, and bottled at cask strength.
Produced using the most traditional of production techniques, from floor malting all the way through to the bottling stage, Springbank can best be described as a "hand-made" single malt. Both Springbank and Longrow use non-chill filtered malt to maximize the natural flavors and textures of the particular cask, vintage and terroir.
