Bodegas y Vinedos Valderiz is now one of the most widely-recognized wineries in the Ribera del Duero thanks to the great efforts of Tomas Esteban and now the devotion of his sons Juan and Ricardo. The family is one of the forerunners in organic agriculture in the region. The complete absence of herbicides, pesticides and fertilisers is their trademark and it shows in the beautiful vineyards and wine that represent the true soul and soil of this ancient land.

2009 Bodegas Y Vinedos Valderiz Tomas Esteban $95 bottle
Named after the grandfather who planted the vineyard over 80 years ago, this fruit used to be sold to Vega Sicilia for their Unico bottling! - Produced only in the best years in tiny quantities. - Spends 24 months in new French Oak. 93 Points Wine Advocate “This is another superb wine from Valderiz, but it requires 3-5 years in bottle. Drink 2015-2025. I was very impressed by the wines of Bodegas y Vinedos Valderiz: mostly Ribera del Dueros with character, precision and vivacity. These are well worth seeking out.”
