During colonial times “cyder” makers hauled their barrels via carriage to New York City on a hodgepodge of cowpaths and Indian trails known as Kings Highway. Connecting hamlets and villages like Bushwick, Gravesend, and New Utrecht, the road eventually birthed the city of Brooklyn.
