Subject: Sassicaia takes its Pedigree to Argentina

Piero Incisa della Rocchetta, whose grandfather the Marchese created Sassicaia in Bolgheri, has realized a dream to grow Pinot Noir in Patagonia. The winemaker here is Han Vinding Diers of Noemía fame also in Río Negro.

As Piero Incisa says, “Hopefully, because you are curious and want to explore” you will take the challenge to try a different expression of pinot noir.

"The just-bottled 2014 Barda could be the longest-lived of the four vintages I tasted. …The palate is medium-bodied, with very primary flavors, fine-grained tannins that should get polish with a little bit of time in bottle. A very complete Pinot from Río Negro. These are the best Pinot Noirs from Argentina, reaching in a vintage like 2013 world-class level. Bravo Piero and Hans!"
