2009 Chateau Fleur de Boüard $780 case 96 Points Wine Advocate “Over-achievers in short, the 2009 La Fleur de Bouard is fabulous, with notes of blueberry, plum, licorice, white flowers and camphor followed by a full-bodied, well-endowed, textured, supple wine. Stunningly concentrated, yet silky and seductive.” “If only every Bordeaux could achieve this level of quality.”

| Under the direction of Coralie de Boüard, this domaine is the flagship of the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation. Daughter of the charismatic oenologist and winery owner Hubert de Boüard, Coralie grew up near the vineyard, in the family property of Chateau Angelus. She conscientiously farms their 33 hectares (81 acres) of vines, composed of 80% Merlot as well as Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon and situated at the northern border of the famous Pomerol plateau. The vineyard required almost 12 years of replanting in order to reach its full potential. The ultra-modern gravity cellar allows the winemaker to preserve the integrity of the fruit and its aromas (violet, black cherry…), while the choice of ageing – up to 24 months in barrels, of which 80% are new – brings even more complexity to the wines and depth to the tannins.
