This is the 3rd wine from Calon Segur. The wine used to be called “Le Saint-Estephe de Calon Segur” until the 2018 vintage and previously “La Chapelle de Calon” until the 2012 vintage.
As a reminder, in the 18th century, the estate was turned over to the Marquis de Ségur, who also owned Chateau Lafite and Chateau Latour.
Despite the highly coveted reputation of the others, he famously said, “I make wine at Lafite and Latour, but my heart is in Calon.”
