Domaine de la Solitude has belonged to the religious community of the Holy Family since 1854, whose goal is pray in the silence of solitude. It has 25 hectares of vines in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation for the red (60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot).
In 1993, the sisters decided to entrust the vineyard management to Olivier Bernard, owner of Domaine de Chevalier, with a lease of 40 years. Following the example of Chevalier, Domaine de la Solitude produces grapes rich in colors and flavors vintage after vintage. The Bernard family have succeeded in revealing the qualities of this great terroir, making now some of the best value in the whole Pessac Leognan appellation.

2019 Domaine de La Solitude Pessac Leognan Grand vin de Graves $210 6pack Domaine de Chevalier 94-96 Points, Antonio Galloni “A powerful, brooding wine. Black cherry, lavender, dark spice, menthol, licorice and plum bring out somber shades of expression in this decidedly virile Pessac Leognan…there is so much to look forward to here.” |
