2011 Chateau La Gurgue Margaux $25 bottle
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot
This estate located between Chateau Palmer and Margaux, is headed by Claire Villars-Lurton, daughter of the much-admired Bernadette Villars (Chasse Spleen) and granddaughter of the great Jacques Merlaut (Gruaud Larose).
"Bright medium ruby. Ripe aromas of blackberry, chocolate and licorice, plus a suggestion of minerals. Sweet, lush and easygoing, with bright red berry and herbal flavors. Finishes with firm tannins and good length. A very good La Gurgue. Given the performance of this and her other wines (Haut Bages Liberal and Chateau Ferriere), I got the impression that owner Claire Villars-Lurton understood this vintage better than many of her colleagues did."Vinuous

2008 Chateau Capbern Gasqueton Saint Estephe $30 bottle
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc
The sister property of Calon Segur, among the oldest estates in the Medoc and owned by the Gasqueton family for ten generations! This is a beautifully balanced wine of charm and structure capable of lasting another 10 years!

2011 Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste Lacoste Borie Pauillac $35 bottle
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc
The second wine of Grand Puy Lacoste, this is the single best value in Pauillac, bar none! The Borie family has owned the property since 1978 and the 2011 is precise, pure and beautifully balanced with ripe tannins and a bright finish.
