“This small house is Campania’s number one producer of Greco di Tufo.” — Steve Tanzer
2013 Benito Ferrara Greco di Tufo
$252 case
100% Greco from Campania aged in steel tanks.
Gabriella Ferrara manages this small estate that has been in her family since 1880. These vineyards are planted on steep slopes 600 meters above sea level where hand-harvesting is a must and the volcanic soils are rife with chunks of yellow sulphur, giving the wines wonderful mineral notes. The wine is floral, fragrant, and focused with a persistent vibrant finish.
Red

This tiny vineyard is owned by Marco de Grazia and the labels are designed by his daughter, Elena. The wine is ethereal!
2013 Le Vigne di Eli Etna Rosso DOC
$288 case
Approximately 50 year old vines of 98% Nerello Mascalese & 2% Nerello Cappuccio. From Volcanic soil and vineyards on the northern slope of Mount Etna, this is like a Sicilian Burgundy! Beautiful ruby red color with huge perfumes and elegant, fresh red fruit that is full in the mouth with lovely mineral notes.
Best served cellar temperature!
