| | In the spring of 1999, Jean-Pierre Moueix purchased the Château Certan Giraud from the eponymous family. The property was divided in two parts, one of which was sold. The remaining acreage, located on the famous plateau of Pomerol, was renamed HOSANNA, a name which evokes praise and acclamation. It faces Château PETRUS and lies between Château LAFLEUR and VIEUX Château CERTAN. The beautiful red gravel soil has layers of clay; the vines are between 25 and 50 years of age, with an average of 40 years and quite a high percentage of Cabernet Franc. Since the acquisition, extensive work has been carried out in the vineyard, including the installation of new drainage and wells. Château HOSANNA marries elegance and depth and could become, thanks to the delicate touch of the Cabernet Franc, a feminine counterpart to Château PETRUS. |

93 Points Robert Parker "Now one of my favorite Pomerols (a 2005 tasted in Beijing, China, recently was out of this world), the 2011 Hosanna … exhibits complex forest floor, floral, black raspberry and black cherry notes. With a savory, broad opulence as well as a medium to full-bodied appeal, this silky smooth, seductive, complex wine can be drunk now or cellared for a decade or more." |
