Subject: Get out Your Lederhosen!

Brigitta Steininger cheered us all up today with her razor sharp Austrian Gruners and Rieslings.
Weingut Steininger is a family run winery situated in the wine growing village of Langenlois in the Kamptal Valley. Grüner Veltliner represents over 50% of their production.

2015 Steininger Gruner Veltliner Kamptal

$240 case

An excellent reference point for classic Austrian Grüner. Dry and fresh with green apples, grapefruit and lemon showing off. Flinty mineral, citrus and tropical fruit. All of this underlined by the spice of white pepper and ripe acidity.

2015 Steininger Gruner Veltliner Loisium Reserve

$288 case

This single vineyard is richer and more floral than the Kamptal. Perfect with summer lobster feasts. The intricate label was designed by the NYC architect Steven Holl (who also designed their winery and spa/hotel). Crazy good price for this quality!

2013 Steininger Riesling Sekt Sparkling

$336 case

Beautiful tiny bubbles! The fruit is the driving force here and comes through with ripe apricot flavors. Bottles are hand-riddled.
