| | 2001 Brane Cantenac $1380 case 92 Points Wine Advocate “Tasted blind at Bordeaux Index’s 10-Year On horizontal. This has a very Pauillac-style, mineral rich bouquet with touches of brine, cedar and pine. Great definition. The palate is medium-bodied with fine definition, gentle but insistent grip with a very cohesive finish with a pointed citric thread that lends it such tension and freshness. This is a superb wine. Tasted March 2011.” Neal Martin |
| | 2004 Haut Bailly $1668 case 93 Points Robert Parker “The 2004 Haut-Bailly is a candidate for the finest wine of the appellation. Its dark ruby/purple color is accompanied by classic aromas of scorched earth, sweet black currants, cherries, and a hint of pain grille. Light on its feet, but substantially flavored, it possesses stunning purity, good acidity, ripe tannin, and abundant flavor as well as length. It builds incrementally and subtly in the mouth, but it’s the real deal. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2024." |
| | 2006 Chateau Canon $1092 case 94-96 Points Wine Advocate “Tasted privately with a negotiant. A beautiful sweet, slightly gamey nose with bright red berried fruits and hint of Medjool dates. Good definition. Very well balanced with superbly integrated new oak, good acidity and focus. Cassis, crushed violets and blueberry, with an almost Margaux-like finish. Very pretty and beautifully poised. One of the top Saint Emilions." Neal Martin |
| | 2006 Lynches Bages $2280 case 94 Points Robert Parker “This classic, powerful, firm Lynch Bages may be as concentrated (if not more so) than the 2005. It possesses a dense purple-tinged color, tell-tale cassis notes interwoven with hints of roast beef, savory herbs, spice box and subtle oak, good acidity and ripe tannin. The result is a full-bodied, fleshy Pauillac that will benefit from another 3-4 years of cellaring. It is capable of lasting 20-25 more years.” |
| | 2008 Calon Segur $1380 case 94 Points Wine Advocate “Tasted ex-chateau and single blind in Southwold. This is a great Calon Segur from the late Mme Gasqueton, surpassing my appraisal in October 2010. The nose is delectable: very lifted perfume, well defined with crisp black fruit, cassis, tobacco and a touch of gravel. Very Saint Estephe. The palate is medium-bodied with an almost understated, very elegant entry that builds nicely towards a very well defined, classy finish. There is very high quality fruit and winemaking in evidence. Tasted January 2012.” Neal Martin |

| | 2008 Grand Puy Lacoste $828 case 92 Points Wine Advocate “Tasted from a bottle opened at the chateau, the 2008 has a lovely, lifted bouquet of blackberry, blood orange, crushed stone, cedar and tar. It is much more vigorous than the previous bottle. The palate is medium-bodied is very supple on the entry with crisp acidity. Smooth and harmonious, the oak needing time to subsume into the fabric of the wine. The finish is fresh, vibrant, nicely poised with good grip and a fine, supple raspberry and briary.” Neal Martin |
| | 2010 La Pointe $744 case 93 Points Wine Advocate “Tasted at the Union de Grand Cru in London. The La Pointe 2010 has a well-defined, very classic Pomerol bouquet with fine delineation and poise: blackberry, black truffle, smoke and a slight ferrous note. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, ripe and quite bold tannins that lend this Pomerol real backbone. It builds in the mouth to a lovely black truffle and graphite-tinged finish that sits comfortable between Pomerol and Pauillac in style. This is an excellent wine from ‘L’Equipe Monnoret’. Tasted November 2012.” Neal Martin |
