2015 Brea Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay La Estancia Vineyards
$168 6pack
Made by "New California Wine" Guru, Chris Brockway of Broc Cellars. Amazing Chardonnay for this price. La Estancia Vineyard in the historic Santa Lucia Highlands was planted in 1973 by James Harkins, the same year his granddaughter and current vineyard manager Erin Phillips was born. The soil is primarily Chualar loam. These alluvial, porous, granite and sandstone rich soils provide a nourishing environment for grape vines. Erin also works with many of Rudolph Steiner's farming principals to enliven the soil and bring the grapes to life.

Since taking over, the Chumash have taken quality to another level, embracing the natural environment and encouraging biodiversity in the form of owl and bat houses, wild roaming cattle, and nitrogen-fixing legumes.

2014 Amplify Wines, Carignane Camp 4 Vineyard
$150 6pack
"Most producers working with Carignane here produce big, powerful renditions of the grape. While we can appreciate this style, we prefer to amplify the fruit and rock of this place in a featherweight package. We do this through the process of carbonic maceration. We let carbonic do its thing for about 6 days; once the berries split, we press. As a result, we end up with a neon-magenta rendition of Carignane reeking of Italian ices and blood. For us, this wine is all about joy, be it the joy of contemplation or the joy of getting turnt. Whether you throw it in your finest Riedel or your nearest SOLO cup, we're confident you will be slayed." — Winery Notes
