We had a fun visit with Château Talbot propriétaire Jean-Paul Bignon this week and were very impressed with these wines that are all drinking superb now!

2011 Connétable de Talbot $540 case The second wine of Château Talbot, made from the younger vines of this prestigious estate. Very Saint-Julien in style with black fruit flavors and some light spices. A remarkable and affordable wine from this fourth-generation family-owned Château!

2006 Château Sénéjac $360 case Château Senejac was purchased by the owners of Château Talbot in 1999. The vineyard is in one large block with a terroir of mostly gravel soils. Alfred Tesseron of Château Pontet Canet in Pauillac , brings his expertise and the identical technical team that produces Pontet Canet to manage the vineyards and the wine making for Château Sénéjac. Chateau Sénéjac is biodynamically farmed in the same manner as Château Pontet Canet.

2007 Château Sénéjac $336 case “Easy peasy and no rough edges. Classic for Bordeaux lovers. I could just imagine them loving this in clubland. Slightly inky finish but not too tough. Proof that 2007 is drinking like a dream now.” Score 16/20 Jancis Robinson
