Antiyal was established in 1996 and is owned and operated by Alvaro Espinoza and his family in Maipo Valley, Chile. The project started with 2 acres planted at the foothills of the Andes in the town of Alto Jahuel in Alto de Maipo. “Antiyal” is a Mapuche word that means “sons of the sun,” in honor of Alvaro's use of the cosmos in his biodynamic practice.

Antiyal Carmenere comes from the best single plot of Antiyal, located in El Escorial in Maipo. It matured exclusively in egg-shaped cement vats which gives the wine a great amplitude on the palate. The wine has great depth and fine grained tannins.
