This second label from Chateau Lafon Rochet is just fabulous and while it is made in the same traditional manner as its famous big brother, the wine reveals itself more rapidly so you can enjoy all summer with your steak barbecues!

2011 Les Pelerins de Lafon Rochet $360 case
Ideally located in Saint Estephe between Chateau Lafite Rothschild and Chateau Cos d’Estournel, and owned by the Tesseron family of Cognac fame, Chateau Lafon Rochet is sitting pretty. The blend of the Pelerins is 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and the vines share the same terroir and receive the same care as its older brother. Les Pelegrins or “The Pilgrims of Lafon Rochet” is a historic reminder that the pilgrims of Saint-Jacques of Compostelle once traversed the Lafon Rochet domaine. |
