Named for the 300-year-old Southern Burgundy village in which it is located, Monthelie Douhairet was run by the Douhairet family for many years. In 1989, Madame Douhairet asked renowned winemaker André Porcheret to take charge and added his name to the domaine. One of the great figures in Burgundy during the past half-century, Porcheret was the cellar manager at the Hospices de Beaune, before he was hired by Lalou Bize Leroy to make wines at the newly created Domaine Leroy.
Today Porcheret's granddaughter, Cataldina Lippo, is running the estate, producing wines that are classic, elegant and true to their terroirs, with impressive textures, tension and bright flavors.

Winemaker Cataldina Lippo on the 2018 vintage:
“2018 was a perfect year – such a lot of rain at the start of the year so it wasn’t easy to treat and prune during that time of the year but afterwards it was very easy, right up to the harvest. We work all our souls. In the end, it was the harvest date that was hardest thing to choose – we began 1st September – we have lots of old vines here, and they suffered less in the the drought.”
Both wines are from 80 year old vines and production is very small.
