| | From one of the prettiest villages in Burgundy, Chambolle-Musigny is often regarded as the most “feminine” wine of the Côte de Nuits; its intensity and delicacy express themselves with elegance and subtlety.

ORIGINAL CASE
“Deep ruby. The intensely floral-suffused nose reveals notes of lavender, rose petal and lilac along with plenty of spice elements on the mostly dark berry fruit aromas. There is fine volume to the pure medium weight plus flavors that vibrate with energy and minerality before culminating in a harmonious and beautifully well-balanced finale. This marvelously complex effort really builds from the mid-palate as the finish is sneaky long. This possesses excellent development potential and should amply reward extended patience.” — Burghound
92-93 points John Gilman“The bottling of young vine Musigny is going to be superb in 2014, as the wine shows the vintage’s beautiful combination of sappy pure fruit and great transparency. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a perfumed constellation of red and black cherries, plums, bitter chocolate, a touch of marjoram, a fine base of soil, a dollop of vanillin oak and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and sappy from start to finish, with lovely mid-palate concentration, fine-grained tannins and a long, potentially very velvety finish. Lovely juice.” — John Gilman

| | 6-bottle-case 2014 Domaine Joseph Drouhin Chambolle Musigny Premier Cru Les Amoureuses $3300 6pack
ORIGINAL CASE
95 points John Gilman“The wine included fifteen percent whole clusters in this vintage and offers up a stunning young bouquet of red and black cherries, beetroot, gamebirds, mustard seed, a gorgeous base of chalky soil tones, a touch of vanillin oak and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very, very pure on the attack, with a sappy core, superb soil inflection, great balance and focus and a very long, suavely tannic and tangy finish. There is a fine sense of reserve out of the blocks here that augurs very, very well for its future development in bottle. A gorgeous wine. (Drink between 2024-2075).”
