January, 2019 Class Schedule

Confined Space Train the Trainer

This course provides safety managers, line supervisors, or anyone with confined space safety responsibilities with the knowledge and resources they need to develop, implement, and maintain a confined space safety program. This includes:
  • Identifying confined spaces and assessing their hazards.
  • Establishing work policies and procedures to manage those hazards.
  • Learning how to use confined space safety equipment; such as monitors, ventilators, tripods, retrieval lines, and lighting/electrical equipment.
  • Ensuring availability of a compliant rescue capability.

Excavation Safety Competent Person

This course covers the latest industry practices and regulatory requirements. It generally requires two days but can be taught in one day as refresher training or as a basic skills class.

At a minimum, most competent persons must have an understanding of:
  • Basic excavation and soils terminology.
  • Signs and causes of cave-ins.
  • Basic soil mechanics and soil classification.
  • Protective systems (sloping, shoring, shielding).
  • De-watering systems and requirements.
  • Hazardous atmospheres: testing and ventilation.
  • Safety planning.
  • Conducting inspections.

Fall Protection Competent Person

Competent Persons are designated by their employer and are responsible to identify existing and predictable hazards in the work environment. They are also authorized to take prompt measures to eliminate the hazards.

This intense two-day course will provide students with the knowledge and skills to be able to carry out these responsibilities and to ensure compliance with their location's fall protection program.

Forklift Train the Trainer

This eight-hour course is designed to provide experienced forklift operators with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to deliver effective initial and refresher training to your employees. It stresses the practical application of safe operating principles, load characteristics, and workplace hazards. The curriculum reflects all the training requirements listed in OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178.

Confined Space Rescue Team Leader

The five-day Confined Space Rescue Team Leader course provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively lead industrial rescue teams. This course is customized to reflect the rescue processes used in specific industrial environments. At the conclusion of this course, Team Leaders should be able to administer a team and provide their team with refresher training as needed.
