Hi Friend!
Happy hump day to you and happy 9 years of meeting that lady above at the 2009, Change Your Body Challenge Last Meal Kick Off Party @ Splash. Man time has gone by fast and slow and gosh that was one of the best days of my life and I wish I could relive it over and over again.
In any event, here's some awesome stuff that happened in boot camp during the last phase.

If you didn’t have a good week, move forward. It does you know good to carry around guilt. Each day, each moment and even each second is a fresh start. You’re in control of you!

High Five for making time and getting it done. I’m sure all of your minutes aren’t suicide sprints on the football or basketball court and a lot is probably walking and that’s how it should be. Some sprints. Some change of direction. Some steady state and some walking.
- Week 3, Kick A** Weight Ins!: Alicia,Walter, Ceci, Josh, AnneMarie, Melissa, Karna, Marc, Nelson, Mimy, Susan, Eric, Amitaand Paul, all beat their last KAWI in on record. It’s data to track trends. Don’t get to high emotionally, don’t get too low emotionally, do practice your habits and track your data, so you can learn and see trends and manage your future health appropriately.
- Danaand Walter for getting in his and her bikes with “Farley” tires (fat tires), so they could do some riding together on weekends.
- And, happy 30th Wedding Anniversaryto Danaand Walter. That is super cool. Yay for you both!
- Walter mountain biked with his brother in the mountains of New Hampshire for 4 days, riding up and racing down. He did roughly 850min per day on the bike, but because he had a seat on, he averaged about 425min / day of cardio (wink).
- To booster dad, Jim P, for cooking 100 hot dogs for his sons football game. If you played high school sports, you probably appreciate the booster parents as they become extra parents for all the athletes. Good for you JP!
- Welcome back Lisa D, LaurenC from her summer break and Ozge and Eric from their long trip.
- Lisa L for starting a private practice! So very exciting for you. We wish you tremendous joy, a full schedule, work + life balance and continued self-care prioritization!
- Stephanie B, for being recruited away to a new company. Nothing says we want you and you’re doing an awesome job, like, being recruited away. Yay for you!
- Liz D for scoring a goal in her last game and nonchalantly saying, “that felt good!”.
- Diane G for running her fastest 5K in 5 years (25:04), finishing 4/47 in her age group, 11/175 for women and 43/327 overall.
- Nelson, committed to another 8 weeks of Krav Maga, so kudos to him for making time for things he loves and to everyone who makes time for things they love.
- Sarah P for having a strong phase of attendance. Keep going. Schedules are in order and kids are back to school. It’s a good time for you to build some momentum and it’s a good time for everyone who depends on the consistency & predictability of school season schedules. While you’re building momentum reflect on what breaks up your consistency and how you can better prepare for it moving forward.
- Mimy, you had a great phase of attendance and took advantage of the different class times to get your workouts in. That’s how you do it and you did. Keep going!
- Eric, way to rip the band aid off and get back to it! You’re turn Ozge. Everyone remember, if you ever lose your balance and consistency, pick yourself up and get the first one. Go slow. Go easy. Check it off the to do list, get it done and move forward.
- Amita, thank you for inviting your guests (Harshitaand Jennifer) to try us out and thank you to Emily for encouraging them to do it! Although we weren’t the right fit for them this time, we may be down the road, and they certainly have more respect for how strong, fit and tough you are.
- Paul, for addressing discomfort, making time, showing up, using the different time options and for quietly making very consistent progress since May. Your data is excellent!
- Colleen for picking up speed as the phase went, earning perfect attendance, improving your TRX Y-Raise and for coaching your daughters 10 and U, softball team to a 26-0 record. That’s something. If Vivi plays softball and you’re still coaching, we want you!
- Gregor for continually improving your Cyclo-Cross times, watts and efforts each week. School commitments should be quieting down a bit, which means a bit more time for you to work on your strength & conditioning. Keep going.
- Happy Birthday Dana! May you enjoy your new day, month and year!
- Happy CYBBC Anniversary! Madeline McNeely (#6), Jim Pelis (2ndof anniversary #3 and 6th of anniversary #2; he had some stops and starts) and Diane Gomez (#1)!
- Last, but not least our Daily Habit 4 for 4’s: High Five to Marc(2), Mimy, David, Marisa(2), Colleen(2), Dana, Mich, Ricardo, Liz(2), Stephanie, JulieT(2), Melissa, Amita, Nelson, Anne Marie and Christine for hitting their daily sleep goal, meals per day goal, exercising and practicing their nutrition habit, all in 1 day. That feels GOOD!
Inspiring stories from inspiring people.
Feeling grateful as I reflect,
Coach Mike
