Hi Friend,
Happy Sunday to you!
I read a really great quote recently that resonated with me and reminded me of training and life.
"If you keep knocking at the door, you're going to win at some point. You're going to get that ball that goes your way. You're going to get a call that maybe you wouldn't have gotten before. You're going to make a play that wasn't made before. So you know, I'm glad we keep knocking at the door." - Tom Brady
If you've followed Brady's career, it makes total sense. You've seen him not get the calls and the league be out for him and you've seen opponents make mistakes and him come back and win games numerous times.
He's one of the best examples of showing up, doing your best and trying to move forward despite all odds and every once in a while things break your way, the stars line up and success happens.
Vanessa and I often talk about when you're working hard and grinding, there's a feeling that you know things are going to work out for you because it's happened before. Even when things don't go your way or it seems life happens in a not so favorable way, if you keep showing up, eventually good things will come.
I imagine you've experienced similar things by continuing to show up, do your best and try to move forward.
The same goes for training. Everybody wants results yesterday. "If there was a magic pill for exercise and results", you might take it. "If you could pay someone else to workout for you and you got the results", you'd consider it. This is what some people say. Most of these people haven't found the love of movement, of an active lifestyle.
It's the process though where the joy is and playing the long game by continuing to show up, do your best and try to move forward are where the wins stack up. Eventually you can outlast some things. Life stress all of a sudden drops and boom, results flood in. Your life levels up and your resources change. Kids become more independent and time frees up. Aches and injuries get addressed and heal up and movement becomes easier, more frequent and more fun. It happens all the time all around us.
Keep Showing Up, Keep Trying Your Best and Keep Moving Forward.
Persistence pays off.

p.s. when you're ready here are 3 ways I may be able to help you:
Private Training. Some people work best with 1-on-1 undivided attention, a recurring appointment, a custom program. If this is you, reply with "private" when you're ready.
2. Consulting / Program Design. Some people are self-motivated and like to do things on their own timeline. They value a plan and they value a coach, but they want to run and train when it fits their schedule best. They come for check ins, check ups and next progressions, then they go off and do work. If this is you, reply with "consult" when you're ready.
3. Group Personal Training. And then others really shine in a group setting. Whether it's the camaraderie of being on a team or drawing inspiration from leading or following, the social piece helps give you a reason to show up and another reason that training days can be the most fun days of the week. You get a coach who cares, an awesome program tailored to the group and scheduled self-care & accountability to help you win your days! If this is you, when you're ready, reply with "group".
p.p.s. here's what Alfredo (who's only trained virtually), said about his experience.
