Subject: P8, Week 1 Recap

Hi Friend,

Happy 2nd week of July to you!

Woo! Time to come up for air. It was a fulfilling week of working and hosting and as the cold symptoms and raspy voice I now have remind me, "work hard, play hard" isn't sustainable, whereas "work hard, rest hard" is and both work and rest include play.

P8, Week 1 Recap

You learned new progressions, increased your resistance and unloaded from the previous weeks' record week. We aimed for 1 round, you probably did more, and most importantly felt like you could have done more, which means you had a surplus of energy at the end of the workout and hopefully accumulated energy towards the end of the week.

This is an example of unloading, de-loading and kind of like tapering, but not quite.

Guest Week!

Do you want to be a high performer?

Do you want to be a better athlete?

Do you want to get hurt less often and/or recover quicker from injuries?

Do you want to be able to play with your kids / grandkids?

Do you want to have more energy?

Do you want to improve your appearance?

Maybe your friends do too. If these subjects come up during conversation, ask what they are doing for their workouts these days. If they ask you, what you do, say, tell them about what you do to address the same concern they had.

Example:

Friend: Gosh, I'd love to play pickle ball, but every time I play a sport, I get hurt.

You: What do you do for workouts these days to help with that?

Friend: This, this or this. Or... I don't workout. What do you do?

You: I foam roll, stretch, do pre-hab exercises and strength train, under the supervision of a coach, 3x/wk.

If you know someone who's also looking to get better and what they're currently doing isn't working, invite them to join you and/or train with us. If they're curious to learn more, connect them via an email or in person introduction. They can learn more here.

Hitting the ground running,

Mike

p.s. happy birthday to Marisa, Pete, Lucy and Stephanie!

p.p.s. what'd you get for cardio minutes last week? Please reply now!
