Subject: Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Friend,

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

I am thankful for you. To get to be a part of your life, your story and to be your coach. I love getting the chance to help you present your best self to your day and to make you feel better when you feel less than great. I love watching and hearing about how your choosing to work on your self-care has a ripple effect in your world. It's so cool. Thank you for this opportunity and for choosing me. I choose you back!

There will be No Thanksgiving Day Family Workout this year. We'll regroup for next year.

Here are some thoughts on how to make your holiday the best for your health and self-care.

  1.  Move in the morning.  Try to do some form of movement in the a.m. that makes you feel great. Listen to your body. If it needs to stretch, do the stretch routine, do some stretching on your own or do a yoga routine. If it needs to burst, get on your cardio piece or get outside and get your sprints and steps in. If it needs the full body CYBBC special to check all of the boxes, do that. If it's sport your body needs and craves, find your people and do that. Just move.

  2. Last Name Family Walk. Most years we go to my Tios house in Ashland for Thanksgiving and we do 1-2 Alves Family walks. Once after dinner and once again after dessert or 2nd dinner. It's always fun to walk together and be joyous. Consider proposing a "hey, let's go for a post meal walk before dessert (or after)".

  3. Eat all the food and drinks you enjoy.  It's a holiday. Then regroup on Friday. And if something makes you not feel good, then consider not doing it. There's so many other fun things you can participate in.

  4. Be social. This is an easy one because the day is social in nature. While you're connecting. Remember how good it is for your spirit and your health. Michaela shared that she loves seeing her uncle play the piano and sing songs. She says everyone joins in. I remember growing up, my cousin would play the accordion and my uncle the harmonica and we'd all Portuguese dance in the basement. Make your memories!

  5. Burn & Earn!  Because that's what we do. As soon as you're ready and able, get back on track. Get back to being your best self. Do what you do and move.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Coach Mike
