Subject: Cardio Minutes and All Workouts Are Virtual Next Week

Hi Friend,

Happy Friday to you!

If you trained this week, how was your first week of the new quarter?

Also, if you didn't train today, what were the summer jobs you had in high school and college?

Cardio Minutes - Week 1

Looks like we'll have a difference this phase between in person and virtual cardio minutes.

Gym = 28min / workout

Virtual = 23min / workout

Mackenzie / BG Club / Virtual - Updates

The Mackenzie Center (MC) is getting a new gym floor. The work started today. It's unavailable for the next 3 weeks, which means the last 2 weeks of June and the 1st week of July (empowerment week). Marisa says, there's an outside chance they'll need part of the 2nd week of July, but it's too soon to tell.

That said, I pre-arranged to use the Boys & Girls Club for the next 2 weeks on T / Th evenings, however, the club has changed their rent significantly since I was last there and even if we had our pre-covid, total number of members, the numbers wouldn't work so we'll be virtual until the Mackenzie Center is re-opened.

Marisa has told me the 6am is available to me at the Mackenzie Center if / when we return to in person. At the present time, there is not a strong enough interest to return to in person training at 6am or 9am, nor is there enough of a membership base to support all 3 of those days for each time slot, even if there was enough interest and we did return to full time in person training. There are some days, however where we have enough people training, that if everyone was ready for in person on those days, the door could open to returning to in person on those days. Those days, seem to be the middle days and sometimes Friday's too. In any event, it's still too soon to tell.

So, for the rest of June, all workouts (6am, M / W / F; 9am M / W / F and 6:30pm M / T / Th) will be virtual and then starting the week of July 11, we'll be virtual for all times except 6:30pm, T / Th, which will be at the Mackenzie Center again.

I know training virtual isn't everyone's favorite option. I know this is disappointing for those who have been committed to in person on T / Th. It is also disappointing to me and it is very disappointing to say goodbye to the Boys & Girls Club for the time being. That one hurts.

But much like I tell you that when you're strong, you're more durable and resilient so too am I strong and durable and resilient. We'll figure it out. I'll figure it out. I care. I'm passionate. I love what I get to do. I've got a high motor. I'm determined, resourceful, creative, etc...

When I launched CYBBC I wanted to create a do anywhere program, using minimal equipment that people owned, so if there was a snow storm, sick kid, traveling for work or play, you'd always be able to get your workout in. And you have for the most part. Even the pandemic really hasn't stopped you / us from training. We had to figure out zoom and then we hit our stride. You already knew how to read workout cards, you had the equipment, you knew the structure, me, your peers and we keep going. We'll be o.k. Just a blip on our timeline.

Minutes are due Monday. Next week, the workouts will be a little more familiar, so we'll do a little more. Dad's have a great father's day weekend. Everybody keep training and get your rest in. See you soon.

Make it count,

Coach Mike
