Subject: Cardio Minutes & Upcoming Schedule

Hi Friend!

Happy Monday to you!

Today is a reflecting (and butt kicking) day for me.  The last 2 weekends were supposed to be very chill, recharging, family weekends, that started that way, but didn't finish that way.  My internal yo-yo is going back & forth trying to decide if reacting to unscheduled values trumps thoughtfully & intentionally scheduled values.  I just don't know.

Last weekend we were supposed to stay home and get grounded.  Do things inside and outside the house.  Check off to do's and set up our week.  Then my Tia invited us for lunch so we could celebrate the tomatoes in our garden that reminded us all of my Avo (my grandmother / my Tio's mother).  Do we go.  Do we stay.  We went, but sacrificed finishing our list.  We addressed value #2, relationships, and sacrificed a little of value #1, health.  We ended up being a little rushed during the week and not finished with our to do's, but we got filled up, so I don't know.

Then this weekend Vanessa asked if she could have time to work and do home stuff, translation, get out of the house, so Vivi and I connected with my best friend and we had an overnight camping trip with him and his daughter.  #awesome!  But then the BBQ we skipped turned out to be a surprise wedding and so we left the camp early on Sunday to attend a birthday party in Ludlow, so we could congratulate my cousin on getting married and attend a wake that we found out about last minute.  Translation we got home after Vivi's bed time and Vanessa was already in bed, so that created a scramble.  Thankfully my bride, did ALL my steps and set me up with food and laundry for the day #luckyguy.

Dilemma again.  Value #2, relationships, trumping value #1, health.  Sort of.  I'm not sure how it'll play out, but I'm on fire today, our home is in good shape, Vanessa is in good shape, and I'll find out if Vivi is in good shape.  Our inside and outside to do's, at least my role to do's are still there, but our marriage, family and relationship buckets are filled up.  My health bucket is good aside from not enough sleep last night.   Got my cardio minutes in, hit my strength goals, nailing my nutrition habit and regular meals.  So we'll see.

How about you?  How do you manage when you thoughtfully pre-scheduled things and then choose to react and change plans?
