Hi Friend!
Do you ever come home after a long day and feel like you deserve a reward for slaying dragons and fighting the good fight?
Do you ever feel like you deserve to crack open a cold, ... seltzer and/or eating an extra meal after giving your best and every last bit of energy you had?
Do you ever feel like you deserve a little indulgent media consumption (netflix, movies, news, gossip mags, facebook, social media, ...) for keeping your cool during all the high stressors of the day?
Do you ever find yourself moving much slower through tasks that take seconds or minutes to do and now they're taking large chunks of time?
If yes, then I highly encourage you to embrace the boring.
GO TO BED!
GO TO SLEEP!
DO YOUR WIND DOWN STEPS and GET TO BED!
Then wake up and go about your life.
Then, the next night DO IT AGAIN!.
PUT YOURSELF TO SLEEP.
DO NOT DO 1 MORE THING. IT CAN WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW.
YOU'LL BEGIN TO FEEL and BE FASTER with THOUGHTS and ACTIONS while Remaining CALM.
YOU WON'T REGRET IT (I wish I didn't have such a good night sleep, said no one ever).
Coach's Note: When you feel slow and you notice it takes you longer to do normal routines, you might be under slept and have accumulated sleep debt. Time to re-emphasize putting yourself to sleep early and consistently by following your wind down (bedtime) routine and not doing 1 more thing. Go to bed a little hungry if need be. You can deal with it for one night to see if it's worth it.
