| Hola Friend!
Have you seen Steven Spielberg's recent movie, Ready Player One? It's a futuristic movie that has a lot of people wearing the Virtual Reality goggles and one fun thing was seeing all the video game and pop culture flashbacks from the 80's.

Mario Do you remember Nintendo's Original Mario from the Super Mario Bros.? What a fun game and gaming system that was? Remember blowing into the cartridges to try and get them to work? :-)

The StruggleOne common theme both Ready Player One and Mario had was the struggle to move forward. Percival, the main character in Ready Player One was struggling to find his way in life with the cards he was dealt and Mario was struggling to find the princess who was taken captive.
We all have struggles in some way, shape or form that we have to work through to not only survive but move forward in life.
Some high school classmates said it best when describing rap music lyrics that one of the main appeals was the struggle the artists went through to get to that point in life. That struggle inspired their creativity and their story and many people could relate when they heard it.
We all have struggles. Some we're born into and some we create for ourselves, for better or worse.
These struggles bond us. It's what we work through to make a life, make a living, start a family, start a company and achieve goals.
Struggles are shared because everyone has them, they just look different sometimes.

The FlowerAnother common theme in both Ready Player One and Super Mario Bros. was the need to refuel, get stronger and level up. There's no way Percival is going to win races and get the egg if he doesn't gain coins to enhance is life, tools and recovery and there's no way Mario gets to the Princess, let alone save her, if he doesn't get some plant based flowers to refuel and recharge so he can get stronger and finally beat Bowser in level 8-4.

Flame Throwing MarioHere's the thing though. As Mario moved through life and got better pixels and clothes, the challenges and struggles got greater. He needed more flowers to help him recover and keep getting stronger and at some point he got so strong, he could throw flame balls.
Every achievement you have in life stacks upon itself, yet it doesn't necessarily get easier to achieve BIG goals, you just get better at managing and tolerating the discomfort it takes to achieve them. As your life gets more full and your time more precious you need more flowers, strength and skills to overcome the struggle and keep moving forward. More Work + Rest to get your Success!

Awesome Person Who Can Do Rad Stuff!First off, who says Rad anymore? Rad makes me think of practicing ollie's on my Santa Cruz skate board from back in the day.
The Metaphors Original Mario is all of us. The Flower equals Self Care. Super Mario who throws flame balls and does rad stuff is cool and what most people want to become.
It's also known as being the best version of yourself to present to your day so you're strong enough to endure and overcome the struggles you face on the way to living your life and achieving your goals.
Remember Work + Rest = Success!
Also, do you think Mario was a plant based eater or simply making sure he ate his greens?
Either way, to keep leveling up and achieving while working through the struggle, you have to continue getting stronger, learning new skills and recovering so you can wake up the next day and repeat your efforts.
Doing rad stuff,
Coach Mike

| p.s. when you're ready, here are 3 ways I can help you get stronger for the struggle, defeat your own Bowsers and win the Easter Egg.
1. Group Personal Training: the first 2 weeks of every phase are guest weeks, so if you know someone who might love what we do, those are great times to take a test drive. We're perfect for Mario's who want a caring coach, awesome flame throwing people to train with, leveling up programs to follow and a flower power, magical land of vibrant pixels to get filled up in. If you're ready to be a Super Mario, then this place is for you. Reply with "CYBBC" in the subject line when you're ready to be a guest and/or try us out.
2. Private Training. If you prefer to become your own Flame Ball Throwing Super Mario by getting your Flower Powers and Leveling Up training in Private, then when you're ready, reply with "Private Training" in the subject line and let me know.
3. Program Design. The True Flower Power is the program. If you want a custom program, built around where your currently are and built towards where you want to go, that takes the thinking out of it, so you can just show up and stomp on Bowsers, then this is for you. Your program could be
- a muscle building routine,
- a strength routine,
- a cardio plan,
- a stretching plan,
- a recovery plan,
- a nutrition plan,
- a plan to train for an event,
- a corrective plan to manage and working around injuries
- or all of the above.
If this is for you, when you're ready, reply with "Program Design" in the subject line and let me know how I can help you.
