Subject: Avoid the Creep! RSVP for Year End Private Measurements Now!

So who still wants to move to Mars, because last I checked and according to Matt Damon's character in the Martian it's a bit colder there than here.

Hi Friend!

Great day to you!  Yesterday and today were CW#1 and they were a major success.  It was so fun to watch and see members competing against the clock with confidence and effort while training both independently and as team.  Everyone's come along way since they joined.

Year End Private Measurements!
6-9am, Sat, Dec 17 @ MC
Have you ever heard of the creep?  I'm not talking about that weird person, but the result that happens from little habits added up.  In this particular instance the creep is when each year the scale goes up a little and after a handful of years (more or less), a person finds themselves surprised at what's happened.  It usually doesn't reconcile with the identity he/she views of him/herself.  I may have some things stacked in my favor when it comes to the effects of creep, but I'm also human, not a robot, who likes to participate in life too, so I'm equally susceptible to it.

Here's what I love about weekly weigh ins and private measurements.  They keep me honest.  Every week, I eat whatever I want and sometimes even as much as I want, but not everyday or all the time anymore as things are different.  Every week, I know that kick a** weigh ins are coming so I try to eat more thoughtful Wed & Thurs (Tues & Wed for 6:30pm weigh ins) so I can read a number on the scale that's favorable to my goals.  A lot of times, this doesn't happen.  It doesn't make me feel bad, rather it teaches me what happens when I do certain things.  A lot of times, however, I beat it and I see my efforts rewarded.  It's a little game to me.

When it comes to private measurements, I didn't do them as often the first 5 years or so of CYBBC, but I noticed the creep starting to happen, so I began doing them regularly. I like it.  It puts me to bed earlier on Th & F, gets me up early on a Saturday, it's fun to look at my "stats" and it makes the weekend splurge that much better because I know I've got 4 weeks until the next PM.

YE PM are cool because I can compare them to the prior year and if I measure at the start of P1 (on 1/7/17), I can see how things went over the holiday break too.  It's a lot easier to correct my course when I catch things early.

So, I highly recommend you track your progress and sign up for year end measurements now.  It'll be easier to manage the creep.  Do it for yourself or do it for your people and me.  Or not.  That's o.k. too.
