On September 11th, 1988, the Lancaster returned to the skies after an 11-year restoration by volunteers, lead by Norm Etheridge. It was the largest aircraft restoration in Canadian history.
To celebrate this milestone, we welcomed Hamilton Mayor Fred Eisenberger, Hamilton Councillors Brenda Johnson and Lloyd Ferguson, and Cathie Puckering, President & CEO of Hamilton International Airport aboard for a special commemorative flight.
Since the restoration, we have put only 1400 hours of flying time on the airframe which has included several coast to coast trips in Canada, visits throughout the US, plus, in 2014, flew across the ocean to tour England with the other flying Lancaster. We estimate our Lancaster has been seen airborne by tens of millions of people during this time!

Here's to hopefully many more years of flying!
