Let's Celebrate

ASI Columbia Union is hosting a special Sabbath celebration on Feb. 12 at Living Hope Seventh-day Adventist Church in Haymarket, Va.

“The recovery has begun and it is time to come together and collaborate in ministry again,” said Mark Brown, president of ASI Columbia Union.

The chapter continues in its three-fold mission to:

  1. Discover, highlight and support the ministries of our members

  2. Revive the missions offering in ASI Columbia Union

  3. Foster the growth and involvement of the ASI Young Professionals ministry.

The Feb. 12 event will allow colleagues to come together and hear what's ahead for the chapter. It is also a time for members to come and worship together. Living Hope will provide lunch.

The day begins with Sabbath School taught by Elder Ronald Goss, ASI Columbia Union member and president of Project Restore.

His nonprofit organization produces and distributes religious magazines.

“God gave us forethought to step out in faith and order the paper for the printing of 5 million full-text Great Controversy paperback books,” Goss said of the organization's plans for 2022. “Once these are printed and distributed, the Lord will have blessed us with the printing and distribution of over 25 million books, all to God's glory.”

Brown will preach for the 11 a.m. worship service. His message will focus on the story of Nehemiah.

“Though laughed at and despised, even threatened with violence, for attempting to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, Nehemiah spoke confidently about what God's people would do,” Brown said. “Then each inspired ministry/business group repaired the section of the wall nearest them, until it was done. It is a biblical ASI story that will inspire us all.”

You can join ASI Columbia Union for the special Sabbath in person at Living Hope Seventh-day Adventist Church or you can watch live via Living Hope’s Facebook page and YouTube Channel.

ASI COLUMBIA UNION AT WORK

With the help of ASI Columbia Union, Back2Eden Lifestyle Ministry, which care for the sick, train medical missionaries, feed the hungry through our agricultural efforts, has been approved to receive support from Outpost Centers International

Back2Eden purchased land in Caldera, Panama, to create a lifestyle center, according to the Outpost website. "Once fully established we will provide shelter and useful labor for the poor and the needy, minister to the cities, and have a missionary training facility. Outpost Centers International nurtures Adventist ministries and offers "health and evangelism training programs, volunteer missionary job opportunities, and information and ways to support credible mission projects," according to its website.

PRAYER REQUESTS

Denise Hayden — The former president of ASI Columbia Union is in need of earnest prayer for healing.

ASI Columbia Union members and families — God would bless and keep each member and their families and guide them in their mission to spread the gospel throughout the union and around the world.

GOD'S PROMISE

"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come." — Ephesians 1:17-21 NIV
