Today I wanted to do some planning for my novel, but the day was full with lots of commitments, and my writing time was overtaken (by choice) by those commitments.
But then a 20-minute window opened up and I seized it.
I set my timer for 20 minutes and dove into my writing.
The timer dinged and I was done. Whew! And Yay! I wrote, even though it was squeezed in between editing a client's book and rushing home to be there when the new refrigerator arrived. (The old one went caput on us suddenly a few days ago.)
I use timed writing and other such writing tools to plan and write my novels all the time -- working in small steps. (In a day or two, I'll be ready to write my companion story to my 4-book series.)
It is my joy to teach others how to do the same, so you can have a life and write your stories longing to come out.
So join us to get moving on your fiction in our upcoming PLAN YOUR NOVEL 30-Day Challenge, October 1-31, 2018.
Taught by me and my husband, Ezra Barany. Between the two of us, we've written over 30 novels and novellas in the last 15 years, in three genres.
Early Enrollment starts today!
In this workshop, we'll help you plan your novel in 30 days and write with confidence.
We know that you have other activities in your life besides writing, and that writing your novel is important to you.
How can you manage your writing and still meet your other obligations?
Well, you can, in small, manageable bite-sized pieces. Each lesson in this course can be done in as little as 15-20 minutes.
That's why this course is designed for the writer with a life.
You can plan your novel in a way that fits into yours. We know, because we’ve done it, multiple times!
In our 30-Day Writing Challenge, we will help you think and write through the steps to create your novel – from character development to plot structure to story themes and world building — so that you can start NaNoWriMo prepared.
We created this course for experienced writers or ambitious writers who want to plan their novel in an organic or step-by-step way, so that on Nov. 1st you can start writing it alongside the NaNoWriMo crowd.
What can you expect: You'll put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard and write while you think, in specific ways, with specific focuses. Words will pile up, along with ideas, story questions, and scenes.
You'll be invited to read short lessons, watch some video or listen to the lessons, then write and actually do some thinking of your story on the page.
This class is good for you if:
-- You have never written a novel, and have always wanted to, and still feel lost on how to go from brilliant idea to The End, then you will be stretched in new and different ways. -- You're an experienced novelist, with 1 or 2 completed or partially completed novels under your bed. You may find this course structured in a way that's new to you and yet familiar.
-- You have 3 or more unfinished novels sitting in a drawer, and always hit that sagging middle and lose focus or lose interest. This course will help you dream up exciting ways to torture, I mean challenge, your characters all the way to the resolution of the story.
This is our fifth teaching this workshop, so we're opening enrollment early, and have some fun bonuses for you! Enroll by August 31, 2018 to receive these bonuses!
-- A copy of the forthcoming book, Plan Your Novel Like A Pro by Beth and Ezra Barany (due out Oct. 1st).
-- A chance to win a one-on-one session with Beth Barany, a $350 value. Two winners will be chosen Sept. 1st. -- A Writer's Notebook, mailed to you (International mailing, too!)
Investment: $394
You can pay in one payment or in 4 monthly payments of $100.
I would be honored if you chose to join us. And even if you don't, I know you can write in small bit every day to get to The End of your book. |
