You *Can* Do NaNoWriMo!

September 24, 2021
Oakland, CA

Hi Friend,
Over the years we’ve helped many students plan and write their first NaNoWriMo novels.

And, we’ve watched students who only dreamed of finishing a book become published authors.

I bet you have some of the same questions and concerns they had.

Some of the concerns we’ve helped students with in the past include… maybe you recognize some of these! ...
  • I don’t know where to start.
  • I’ve started, but I’m stuck.
  • I need accountability to get started.
  • I’m not sure how to create interesting characters.
  • I struggle with creating conflict.
  • I’m stuck in a writing rut.
  • I have writer’s block.
  • I’m not sure what order to write my novel in.
  • Help! I’m overwhelmed!
We’ve all been there.

Here’s a little secret (and a pro tip): Being stuck is part of the creative process. When you acknowledge that, you get some room to discover what’s next.

Beth created this course because she started there -- in confusion and overwhelm. With these tools and the roadmap, she’d written and published over 10 novels. And Ezra and Ann have both used this material to successfully finish their own novels.

WHAT PREVIOUS STUDENTS HAVE SAID

"... the material was well organized, comprehensive, and entertaining…. They were very responsive to questions and helpful in getting participants beyond stuck points in writing. Their feedback was constructive. I highly recommend them as teachers, coaches, and editors."
- Joan Lovett, Writer

"I want to thank Beth Barany and Ezra Barany for taking the time.... Their encouragement helped to get me on the stick and get ready to write my novel."
- Carol Malone w/a Jill Tunney, author of Ladies Night, a Fight-Card Romance

"This course helped me get out of my writing rut. I am not one to outline or get to know my characters before writing. By taking this course I learned that plotting and characterization can be fun. Now I find writing to be fun again. Thanks."
- Kay LaLone, YA Paranormal Mystery Author

[They are] super accessible.... The support is fabulous.... a real community."
- Tricia Riel, author of the Zephrum Gates series
